A RUNNING STAR FROM A INDIAN HAMLET
Sun has started shining on the sports persons from remote villages and settlements in India finally. Santhi from a village near Pudhukottai,Tamil Nadu has made the nation proud by clinching silver medal in 400m in the Doha Asian games forum. She has guttered across all barriers of money, reputation and hostility. This could possibly open the doors of Indian sports arena into the athletics lime light for similar young aspirants of all nook and corners of the country. Somehow the urban tots are not the ones inclined to sports these days for whom it has become a leisure grub, to hang out with fellow pals and wile out their free time. It is indeed a very commendable stamp that more evolving talents are found all over the nation. Times are not far though for India to step up and perform in these sporting events specifically the Olympics and the FIFA world cup. Its big time the Indian mass give less attention and importance on games like cricket and realise how other sports could also put India in the world map for sports.

There are so many stars like shanti, unfortunately due to very bad administration in the sports front we are unable to tap and nurture the talent. No one is aware as to what happened to junior hockey heroes Rajiv Mishra and Deepak Thakur. K.P.S.Gill should give an explanation for the players goin' missing after performing very well in junior world cup's.
